This species of corn palm is native throughout tropical Africa and is a very popular choice for its lush and shiny green leaves. Its slender or compact habit means it can bring height into a room with very little sacrifice on space making it the perfect elegant choice for office environments and any other limited space area which has medium to low light conditions. To ensure those lush and shiny green leaves live up to their reputation, give them a regular wiping with a combination of water and milk to bring out that natural shine. One plant you can rely on to just add some lush greenery with minimal care requirements.

Growth habit:

Tall and slender, growing as tall as you allow it.
Stems can be cut back if growing too tall - consult us if you need to. 

Ideal conditions:

Medium to low light conditions.

Watering requirements:

Only water them when the top 2-3cm of the soil is dry to the touch. They tend to prefer distilled water or rainwater and it has fewer chemicals.

Health concerns and benefits:

Toxic to both humans and pets.
It is known for having strong air-purifying abilities by filtering airborne toxins and converting that to oxygen.

Known concerns:

Soft scale and mealybug insect generally evident when there is poor ventilation/air circulation in the room.
